The Species

Name: Esrohognam

The Esrohognam are an alien race from the planet Sint, located somewhere in the Horsehead Nebula. Vaguely deer like in appearance they live a simplistic village life and hold a symbiotic relationship with the planet they reside on.

They average in height from 6'3" to 7'6" feet tall and are omnivorous. They have elongated necks that contain a hidden membrane that expands when they need to project their voices. They have 3 eyes; two set normally on their heads with square pupils to see 280 degrees, and one on their forehead. This eye sees temperature, electromagnetic waves etc. They can see proficiently in both dark and light and have incredibly good hearing. Esrohognam have long, prehensile tongues (ranging from 18 inches to 30 inches) and is used to reach fruit that is out of reach. Their sense of touch is a little duller having not as many nerve endings on their bodies. Because of this, the esrohognam are an affectionate species, finding great joy in firm embraces and touches. They are hooved creatures and may have horse-like hooves or cloven.
They have extremely close family bond, usually living in a family unit of at least 2. The rare Esrohognam without a family unit will often keep things like plants, pets or droids as companions. To find an esrohognam with no family unit or eating alone is a clear indication that something may be wrong.

They are given their clan cheek tattoos when they reach 10 years of age. The fur is shaved, the tattoo is placed and as the fur grows back, it grows in the color of the ink used.

They can come in all colors that can be found in earth mamals, reptiles and birds. Esrohognam do not come in neon colors, but some may have a "glowing" tone to their pupils or scelras. The third eye can be white, pale yellow, or pale blue.

They do not have horns or antlers, but can be found making head bands or clips to wear false ones.

Fur is typically patterned and short with medium to long feathering on the elbows, calves and ankles. The have slightly longer fur on their heads and neck, but generally don't have manes.

While some Esrohognam may decide to pierce their bodies or ears, the ear lobe may never be pierced or damaged. It is considered sacred and beautiful and if one is damaged or removed, the hurt individual will make or be gifted a decorated prosthetic, which is considered quite lovely.

Rare Traits

~Long fur/manes
~Elongated canine teeth
~Blank or solid color fur with only eye spots on the ear lobes
~Short Tails

The Clans

There are four main Esrohognam clans. The first two are the Blokki clan and Li clan. The Blokki tend to stay in the jungle areas of the planet, and the Li stay to the plains, although it is not uncommon to find small village set ups of both in either environment. The two clans are fairly similar to each other, the major difference being their main choice of living area and the plain dwelling Li clan tend to have the least amount of "feathering" on their legs and elbows. Their diets are mostly omnivorous. The Blokki and Li clans are the most technologically advanced as well, having comforts like hover crafts, droids and household electricity to help them with daily life.
The third clan is the Kanta. They are a mountainous people with a mostly carnivorous diet. The mountains are colder and snowy the further up you go, making plant growth difficult. Mosses and small shrubs are the main source of vegetation. They don't care much for technology, but are seen using hover crafts if necessary or having droids but mostly for company. Most Kanta people have cloven hooves to help them navigate the rocky terrain. They are the shortest of the clans, usually averaging at 6'6".
The last of the clans is the Drihoe; a small, nomadic clan of monks made from the chosen children of the other clans. They have the most spiritual energy and connect with the planet easiest. Their primary role is going out into nature and caring for the planet in specific ways to reassure Sint of their symbiotic relationship. Sint tends to favor the Driehoe by aiding in travel, letting more medicinal plants grow by where they are camping, and by generally showing more affection through vines and other foliage.
Elder monks that have completed their training and have earned the title Sa Vin (sah-vEEn), will travel once a year to different clans in search of new members for their clan. If a child is chosen, it will be tested to see if the planet accepts them. If the planet doesn't accept them, the child is given back to their families and life goes on normally for them. If they are accepted, however, the child spends their time between the temples and their family units until they are mature enough to join the clan completely and begin their journey to receive the title of Sa Vin and are given the clan marking on their cheeks. There are currently only 10 Sa Vin alive in the world.

The Planet Sint

Sint is an entity all its own. The planet is a sentient being you must earn its trust to live on. All plant life and natural structures are able to be morphed and manipulated by Sint. Rocks may move fluidly to lift you to a high cliff, vines may wrap around you to pull your over a raging river. In the same light, pits may open out of no where and consume you if you are trying to harm the planet. The Esrohognam have build a solid relationship with the planet, treating it kindly, only taking what they need and protecting it when necessary in exchange for the ability to live and thrive on its surface.
Sint has many different environments! A large majority of the planet is covered in thick rainforests that are broken up by sections of dryer plains, the main homes for the Li and Blokki. In the forests are foggy valleys with large natural pillars that serve as the temples for the Dreihoe. There are also large, looming mountains topped with snow that serve as the home for the Kanta.

FAQ

Q:
Where can I get an Esrohognam of my own?
A:
If you would like an adopt, custom, or myo, feel free to email me or message me on instagram. If you'd like a custom, include a color pallet and any specifics for it. A myo includes a form to fill out and a transparent base. Once completed, submit the form and base back over to me for approval and you will receive a version of the image with a stamp the says "approved Esrohognam" on it.

Q:
How much are they?
A:
Adopts are 40$ usd, customs are 40$ usd and myos are 25$ usd.

Q:
Are there limitations?
A:
Yes. Neon colors not permitted (exceptions can be made for eyes). Their patterning and colors are the same as what you'd find in most mammals, reptiles and avian creatures on earth. (no kidcore, obvious shapes like skulls and hearts-although things that vaguely resemble it as you'd find in nature are permitted-) and other things like that are allowed. With customs and myos, you are allowed to be from Blokki, Li or Kanta. I will open slots for Driehoe rarely.

Q:
Do you have one?

A: Yes! His name is Navix and he is a Sa Vin. He lives with two droids he built in a secluded part of the forest. He's the youngest Sa Vin but has shown a lot of talent and bonded very easily with Sint. The planet favors him a lot.

Q:
What inspired you to create them?
A:
Hooo that's a tale lol. Me, my partner and a couple of pals were enjoying new years eve one year and I decided to get uh... very under the influence- something that I usually don't really do. During my altered reality, I was playing JackBox and quietly sang "its a mango... It's a horse. Its a mango horse!" and then grabbed my sketch book and drew what would become Navix! I woke up the next morning and stared at my sketchbook wondering what the fuck happened last night, but rolled with those artistic punches, wrote the name backwards and came up with the species. The planet inspiration came from the movie Quest for Camelot. I love the idea of a sentient planet and decided that thats what his planet would be.

If I ask you to change something on your myo, please do. I'm not unreasonable and I'm very open to additions and different patterns and things like that! But if something doesn't follow the species guidelines and I ask you to remove it, don't argue. I reserve the right to deny anyone a sale on the species.
once purchased, what you do with your character is up to you. Just please give credit where credit is due, dont steal and follow the species guidelines.
